Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides has exploded into 2018, with a season ahead of new ways that we’re connecting with our local community, new trips, and a roaring successful AIARE Season which has provided avalanche education to over one-hundred students. We’re also helping to celebrate the opening of Boulders newest hotels, working on special projects to map and aid navigation in Rocky Mountain National Park, and launching special women’s education through organizations such as SheJumps. Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides At Outdoor Retailer
Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides took part in Denver’s first Outdoor Retailer show, connecting with local businesses, developing partnerships, drinking local beers and petting dogs. One of our goals for 2018 is to build a deeper connection with local businesses and our community. After the show we partnered with the Outdoor Industry Association’s Future Leadership Academy in a teambuilding event to help them gain crucial leadership abilities and skills that’ll help them to navigate the outdoor industry. We can’t wait to announce some new projects we have in the works!
Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides Attending CROA Annual Tradeshow
The Colorado River Outfitter Association (CROA) tradeshow is a key event for all river operators in the state of Colorado, where we gather to share ideas, network with friends and partners, and have the opportunity the discuss the issues which affect our rivers. Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides, a concessionaire for the Upper Colorado River, is a leader in speaking up for the issues, which affect the vital ecosystem of the river. We look forward to our summer Upper Colorado float and multi-day trips, and show why Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides is top outfitter in the state.
IPW U.S. Travel Association Show Coming to Denver! Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides Offering Special Tours
Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides is proud to support the US Travel Association IPW Show from May 19-23 2018 in Denver, Colorado. Our guides are planning special media and sightseeing tours plus familiarization tours. We are looking forward to working with event planners, attendees, and the city of Denver to show off our blossoming world-class cities and open spaces with Visit Denver and the State of Colorado. Grand Opening for the Hilton Garden Inn Boulder and Embassy Suites
Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides will be on-hand to celebrate the opening of Boulder’s two newest premier hotels: the Hilton Garden Inn Boulder and the Embassy Suites. Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides will be presenting interactive exhibits for the community including a raft demonstration in honor of the Upper Colorado River, one of Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides’ classic excursions, and mountain biking, celebrating Boulder’s famed cycling community.
Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides Continues a Successful AIARE Season and announces Wilderness First Responder Courses
With over 160-students enrolled with AIARE Avalanche Level I courses, Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides is proud to continue another great AIARE Season, where we continued to promote safe and successful avalanche awareness and education, and promote ski touring, ski descents, and alpine ski mountaineering in Rocky Mountain National Park and Roosevelt National Forest. Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides are committed to continuing to develop our backcountry ski descent programs. We are also happy to announce our Wilderness First Responder (WFR) Course from April 4th to 8th 2018 and a recertification course from April 13th to 15th 2018.
For our past and current AIARE level 1 students, we are offering AIARE level 2 (designed for those doing huts trips and lacking access to a bulletin for multiple days, terrain management, and further mentoring opportunities) and Avalanche Rescue 1 day course. Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides is proud to partner with the all-women’s outdoor education group SheJumps to offer exclusive two day lead climbing courses and mountain biking courses in April and June. The Learn to Lead Course will be Saturday April 28th and Sunday April 29th 2018, and will include instruction on climbing, belaying, placing gear, building anchors, and route finding. The Introduction to Mountain Biking will be Saturday June 2nd and Sunday June 3rd 2018, and will cover basic mountain biking technique including ascending and descending, steering, braking, speed, body positioning, and thorough instruction. Cost is $375.00 for both days. Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides will provide all gear and instruction during the trip, however it is recommended that students provide their own gear for familiarization purposes. Database for all Rocky Mountain National Park PeaksColorado Wilderness Rides and Guides is presenting a new database for all Rocky Mountain National Park peaks, including climbing and ski descent routes across the major peaks in the park and creating a new map for some of the most remote and difficult terrain in the Rockies. Our guides will scour terrain by climbing rope, skis, snowshoes, and hiking, to remap new areas and develop new guided trips, plus provides a resource for skiers, climbers, mountaineers, and alpinists across the state. Colorado Wilderness Rides And Guides Founder Joshua Baruch Presenting for Boulder Conventions and Visitors Bureau Panel.
Recently nominated as a ‘Locals Local’ of the West by Elevations Outdoors Magazine, Joshua, who is a Boulder resident and city expert, is invited to sit on a panel of three to help promote Boulder’s vast activities, events, and opportunities for adventure travel, experiential activities, community impact, and leadership development. The panel is working with hotels and motels to promote local experiential activities, which utilize the best of Boulder’s outdoor spaces, as well as areas such as City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, Eldorado Canyon State Park, Rocky Mountain National Park and Roosevelt National Forest. As Colorado Wilderness Rides And Guides looks to further work with our esteemed hotel partners, we look forward to the opportunity to present some of our favorite activities and spaces that’ll make your next experiential adventure activity unforgettable.
