All of our lead climbing guides are professional climbing guides with training and or certifications through the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) and the most up-to-date medical training.

Description: Have you ever wanted to try the amazing sport of rock climbing or transition to the outdoor environment from gym climbing? This is a great introduction to the sport of rock climbing while learning some of the basic safety systems and getting the chance to climb on some great granite or sandstone. This 3.5-hour trip or course is meant to get the beginner or novice climber outdoors and help those who have climbed before but want a refresher. This is a great trip for families, groups, group tours, wedding groups, reunions, individuals, aspiring photographers, and those wanting a great 1/2 day of climbing.

Itinerary: We depart and end from your hotel or a central meeting spot, while driving 5-10 minutes each way to and from a trailhead or climbing site. While driving, we will cover vital safety and climbing considerations. After arriving at trailhead, we will confirm all safety and personal climbing equipment (shoes, harness, helmets, belay devises, and more). Normally it is a 5-10 minute hike to our climbing site (Boulder Canyon, Eldorado Canyon, Golden, and Estes Park). We then head off for a 3 hours of great climbing. At the completion, we will rejoice in our memorable experience together.

Description: Our goal is to continue to build a solid rock climbing foundation. Depending upon the level of our guests, we will customize this experience. Skills covered include: intro and intermediate crack climbing, rappelling, intermediate climbing techniques (footwork, off-widths), anchor basics, longer routes, introduction to multi-pitch climbing, multi-pitch climbs on the flatirons, or other climbing areas we are permitted.

Description: Our goal is climbing routes that are 1 – 10 pitches in length. A pitch is defined as a rope length (150-200’). Depending upon the experience of our guests, we will customize the level in difficulty and length. Boulder is a rock climbing mecca. With more than 4500 routes in the Boulder, Estes Park, and Golden Area, we will find the best options for our guests. Skills covered include: efficiency in movement, hanging belays, transitions, rappelling off routes, cleaning gear, multi-pitch anchor construction, and more. This is great opportunities to try routes with a professional guide, learn how to take your climbing to the next level, and building on our ½ day next step or introduction to climbing experiences.

Learn to Lead: Rock Climbing – 2 days

Description: Our Learn to Lead course is designed to teach climbers with previous experience the fundamentals of learning to lead traditional and sport routes. The course covers: necessary gear, pros and cons of each type of gear (stoppers, cams, tricams, carabiners, ropes, and more), proper gear placement for each type of protection, anchor construction (dynamic and static), leading principles, rope work and drag, objective vs subjective risks, mental considerations in leading, practice leading routes on top rope while having a guide review all placements and giving constructive feedback on anchors, placements, pacing, resting. We offer both full and half-day guided rock climbing experiences. We rock climb outdoors in Estes Park as well as Boulder, Denver and the surrounding areas. All of our lead climbing guides are professional climbing guides with training and / or certifications through the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) and the most up-to-date medical training. We offer courses for beginner and advanced climbers, and our experienced team is educated in helping you find the perfect rock climbing site for your group.

Our guides will teach you the fundamentals of leading sport and trad climbing by presenting an overview of protection devices, proper lead belaying technique, safety considerations on the wall, and rope management. Later, the guides will place you on a mock lead scenario in which the climber will place protection while harnessed to a top rope, after which the guide will examine and constructively critique the climber’s method.
